Staff from local holiday park operators, Waterside Holiday Group, have completed a 22-mile walk across the Dorset coast in aid of its charity of the year, Weldmar Hospicecare.

Six members from across the Group’s three parks took part in the venture. The team began at Osmington Holiday Park, along the Jurassic Coast Path past Waterside Holiday Park and Spa, all around Portland Bill and ended up at the Chesil Vista Holiday Park. The total journey took 10 hours.

Dan Sadler, Entertainments Manager at Waterside Holiday Group, commented: “We had such a fantastic time exploring our local area and walking the route in and around our three parks. The team really worked well together to spur each other on, and we are really pleased with the amount that we have managed to raise.”

The team has raised £1,250 for the charity, exceeding its initial goal of £800 by 56 per cent. Funds will go towards the end of life care the cause provides in Dorset, along with other funds raised by the Group this year.

Fiona Hansford, business development fundraiser at Weldmar Hospicecare, added: “We are so grateful to the team at Waterside Holiday Park for all their hard work with this walk, and for all the fundraising they do throughout the year. Every penny counts in helping us to achieve our goal of providing outstanding hospicecare in Dorset.”
