The winner of the BHStar Awards, The Legend Award 2019, was presented in memory of Ian Goode aka ‘Mr Bournemouth’, recognising Ian’s achievements for the local area. Ian’s daughter, Carly Jervis-Goode accepted the award in Ian’s memory.

Carly, who is the owner of local catering business Goode Choice Catering for local people and businesses, has decided to continue the association with BHStars 2020 by sponsoring the BHLeading Star Award.

Said Jackie Phillipson from BHStar Awards, “After the launch of the awards, Carly got in touch and explained the Goode family wanted to remain part of the BHStars’ orbit to honour the memory of her dad and they also wanted to promote her local business.”

Carly Jervis-Goode of Goode Choice Catering, said: “My business is all about the right ingredients and getting the mixture just right, and this is the perfect fit for us and that’s why we’ve joined forces with the BHStar Awards.”

“This award celebrates those great people or groups of people, who deserve praise for their exemplary work or for their outstanding contributions to the local area. My dad loved the awards and the team who run them, we know he would be so proud to support this award and we’re proud to keep the association going.”

“When I collected the award, I remember my tears of joy, as my dad was celebrated and should not be forgotten. The award now sits in pride of place with a photo of my dad. He was devoted to the area and he put in an incredible contribution over the years. We and the award team are now looking for the groups and the characters, who just like my dad truly care about the local area and its future success.”
