Yellow Buses has been shortlisted in the most prestigious national bus industry awards for its passenger app and one hour ticket. The UK Bus Awards announced the list at a special finalist event held at the Museum of Transport in Greater Manchester.

The Yellows are in the ‘Putting Passengers First Category’, which recognises the delivery of excellent customer service and innovation in improving the passenger experience.

The app and one hour ticket make use of the latest technology and offer convenience that its passengers have never had before.

Fiona Harwood from Bournemouth-based Yellow Buses said: “Our app’s popularity has really grown quickly since it was introduced. We’ve reacted to feedback from passengers to make it do the things they want and it’s now an interactive resource which we will continue to improve.

“It benefits us and our passengers and is something the younger generation takes for granted.

“Our one hour ticket came about through passenger feedback and offers far greater flexibility.

“Obviously we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the award.”

Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said: “We get to hear about some of the most inspiring projects from across Great Britain. The Putting Passengers First award celebrates those teams that go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional experience for their customers.

“It’s great to see these efforts being recognised.  We wish Yellow Buses the very best of luck at the awards ceremony.”
