On Thursday 19th October, a spectacular awards ceremony will celebrate a host of talented young people from across Dorset and Hampshire. Held at the O2 Academy, a Grade II listed entertainment venue, the Rock Star Awards will welcome over 250 business people, youth finalists and past winners, alongside their friends and family.

A range of entertainment will see performances by Bourne Academy students and Ellie Allen, a recent contestant on the CBBC children’s talent show ‘Got What It Takes?’. Global Media and Entertainment, who have been helping to highlight the awards, will also be sending a DJ to perform at the evening’s after-party. In addition, Merlins Catering will be providing a delicious three-course meal. The whole night will be in the hands of experienced facilitator Paul Kinvig.

Paul Kinvig, Business Growth Coach & Facilitator at Aspirin Business Solutions, said “The recognition and celebration of success in business is always welcome. However, it’s vital that we recognise young people and the companies that nurture them. For the Dorset economy to continue to develop, diversify and deliver, we must highlight dynamic and successful young people in business who are doing just that!! That’s why these awards are so important.”

Established in 2012, The Rock Star Awards were founded by Angela Piromalli, the Managing Director of Rock Recruitment. They seek to acknowledge exceptional young people with impressive academic results, achievements in work or other commitments, who have bags of determination and ambition.

Seeking to inspire others, past winner Nathaniel Hawley will be speaking on the night. Nathanial has dedicated his time to bettering the lives of others around the world in countries such as Tanzania, Ghana, Nicaragua and the US. His work has empowered those suffering from mental illness and disabilities through his own social action project.

Coming together on the night, the awards are being sponsored by a number of prestigious local businesses. Sponsors include Greendale Construction, Bournemouth University, Breeze Volkswagen, Streetwise HR, Health-on-Line, Teachers Building Society, QuoStar and Aylesworth Fleming. Set to be the largest Rock Star Awards ceremony to date, there will be opportunities for attendees to help raise funds for the Royal Bournemouth Hospital Charity BERTIE platform, which supports young people and adults with Type 1 diabetes.
